We are pleased to announce the 2019 Annual JEDI AG Forum on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the Best Western Wayside Inn, in Wetaskiwin, presented by the Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) and its Municipal Partners, the County of Wetaskiwin No. 10 & the Town of Millet.

This FREE full day event (including lunch) is reserved exclusively for local farmers and AG producers and as such pre-registration is required by November 14, 2019 November 18, 2019.

The morning will start with greetings from Alberta’s Minister of Indigenous Relations & MLA for Maskwacîs-Wetaskiwin, Honorable Rick Wilson and Minister of Agriculture & Forestry, Honorable Devin Dreeshen.

The event features Keynote Speaker, Robert Saik, a distinguished agrologist, professional agriculture consultant, agriculture entrepreneur and thought leader presenting FOOD 5.0- How We Feed the Future. During his presentation Rob takes you on a journey from the “muscle era” of farming to a future where the convergence of new technologies like sensors, robotics, and machine learning make infinite sustainability achievable.  With the veil lifted on modern agriculture practices, you’ll be inspired to contribute to a culture where farmers can adopt the science and tools, they need to carry out their mission of feeding the planet. Rob’s book FOOD 5.0 was released in August of 2019 & will be available for purchase at the event.

The event program also includes six expert speakers presenting on a wide range of emerging agriculture topics. The topics are geared towards addressing the operational needs of JEDI region farmers with a focus on both grain and livestock operations.  With farmers looking for new ways to diversify their operations, we have also expanded our program to include experts in the fields of hemp and plant protein crops to share their knowledge.

Please join us for a day of learning & collaboration in recognition of the hardworking men & women of agriculture in our community!
